heres a picture dump from friday at oregon :)
after every gallery ill write like a short paragraph thing regarding its contents
there was a really long delay on I-5S due to construction on the bridge crossing lewis river, hence we went on a detour :) on the way there were some nice sights bc the detour went through a mountain. i realised that too late tho and the unselected pics are either too blurry or not interesting :(
for the first time today i truly realisedhow afraid of heights i am. like the entire way climbing up i had doubts about my sanity😭😭 anyways here are some pics from the way up (lots of greenery!)
fyi it smelled really terrible like manure for the entire first half of the climb💀😭
a few images from atop :) it is approx 225 ft up (not that bad) but doesnt have that much of a drop
we then went to another waterfall along the way, this time it had less volume but way bigger of a drop (250 ft or smt) but it didnt look at cool cause there was a decent sized lake between the waterfall and the viewing platform
then on our way back via the memorial highway (OR-30), we visited the vista house at crown point-a reststop for travellers along the old highway built back in the 1910s that was renovated multiple times to make it an excellent viewing spot for tourists as it outlooks Columbia River

heres a not terrible pano from the top
as one may be able to observe, on the west lay stormclouds that approached as we left so we were quite lucky in terms of weather
in fact the entire day it was raining on and off..but we managed to mostly avoid raintimes when we were off the car
their gift shop had a lot of rocks somehow which was quite interesting..
as the rain eased off we found ourselves in a little and seemingly deserted state park on the bank of sandy river, and i must remark that the sand there was very unique. perhaps some ess mains can explain why the sand in p2 seems to be very compact and solid/crystal-like even, breaking off very cleanly and sharply
