week 03

so yeah we're back here on a sunday and it's honestly not a great feeling to be delaying this twice in a row... but also it's a long weekend for memorial day so it kind of feels like a saturday???????

either way it's noon and this weekend is in fact like the craziest weekend in terms of activities like there's sporting events and national competitions all kicking off at once :sob:

currently writing this before the indy 500 (why can't they race in rain at ovals :( rip)

and so this is like the first week after testing and all that stuff has like dimmed down and i think i need to like find some sort of rhythm doing something again. probably better planning is needed? its been a very on and off week in terms of work and ive spent too much time on like nonwork things so i should scale that down definitely. so without further ado lets hop into content

1.College applications

okay so not much has moved on this front as per the previous sentence, but i have indeed started thinking about like researching colleges im not very familiar with. i had like a slight quarrel with my parents regarding how much time that actually takes (which also morphed slightly into an argument re: taking multivar at the cc [community college]), and so now im like supposed to go and try to collect info on a few schools (ofc ones that idk much about) to see how long it takes.

also in eng class we're supposed to start the unit re: essays so im kind of excited what it yields

also my parents have been lobbying for me to research 3+2 programs and im still like not entirely sure what benefits it will really bring me? although that's the purpose of research ig to explore more options

2. competitive stem olympiads

not much on this front. ch 3 in atkins only rn bc not much time this week. need to make schedule and grind sooner or later

also yeah previous discussion re: multivar course means that my plans in that is still stalled

3. formula 1

okay so since im doing this after the weekend i unfortunately have to wait another year to see my crazily incorrect monaco gp predictions cause EVERYONE finished where they started in the top 10 rip

honestly there's not much else to talk about so ill talk about f2 and f3

monaco as a circuit is like no other. this is cliche so i wont say anymore, but the f2 and f3 races were actually interesting bc pitstops and/or strategy was actually nice

in f3 the cars were so small and they could actually go sidebyside so there was some outrageous moves (van hoepen looking at you :Skull:) and honestly it was awesome to watch even without pitstops.

havent watched the f2 race in full but the pitstops in f2 certainly made it very interesting--the tyres could make it to basically the full race without like too much saving needed (cough f1) (ig f1 gets a pass for this bc the red flag meant that everyone was inevitably going to try to keep track position). otherwise, there were also some absolutely outrageous moves in the f2 race esp right out the pits w cold tyres so yeah

also bruh osullivan :skull: i dont think i need to speak more

bearman gained like 8 places legitimately (would've been 9 if not for osullivan) which is like crazy. also antonelli still getting the consistency points lol

5. gaming

yeah so i dropped 100 in cordelius in like 30 mins and once again 50 in another 15 mins by playing too aggressive in solo but at lesat when i gain back the trophies every single time im learning more about this character and how i use it well

in other words it feels like 70% of the people i know play brawl stars. it is not real :skull:

otherwise my muscle memory in asphalt 9 is coming back and im putting in crazy multiplayer races

also ive been gone for really so long. like HELP ??? why are there 138510346830 more cars than before. im going to try to play for the next season to see really how like pay2win this game has become now, and ill see whether i want to keep playing.

6. school stuffs / clubs

okay where do we start

so in total i think i have 4 major final projects among all my classes: physics trebuchet, french reading, apcs presentation, and history presentation

i think what i really need to do firstly is to get back into a rhythm of actually working a lot. ive said this a lot here and i really really mean it and need it rip

im lowkey kinda excited to do the apcs project cause its a topic i actually wanted to do for a long time and i def will need logic circuit knowledge for later

in terms of the trebuchet i really think we were not given enough time. ill start researching in earnest starting later today though... hopefully i stumble upon something fun

i really like Le Petit Prince, i think theres a lot to the book that im not able to get bc im so bad at french but i can see a lot of the social commentary in there and i really love it

i think my history presentation went decently well, esp cus i had background knowledge to supplement any lag in my brain. although one thing is that i made the presentation too long. like way too long rip. i had to skip sections and especially an interactive section. it was kinda sad bc i thought that was the most fun part rip. either way i think i did fair enough though and my presentation abilities probably carried a bit again

otherwise we had the scioly speeches this week, next week we have sciclub/ipc stuffs to come...

also i have to figure out what to do w chem club lolol

7. science bowl

literally nothing happened re: scibowl this week

8. science olympiad

as previously mentioned speeches happened but besides that nothing happened LOL except for the new events this year (im not too excited rip unless wso cooks again) and nats (why is tesla so uncompetitive at nats? it's so perplexing)

9. taylor swift / music

also literally nothing happened. i foresee this section becoming quite very bland over the next few weeks as im not THAT interested in tour updates and that im just listening to music as usual.

in terms of the tour actually though the 1989 outfits are pretty interesting and the surprise songs just keep getting better LOL

10. miscellaneous

hsnct is actually kind of crazy logistically. like to me the only way they could reasonably coordinate it is like... they print like little packets for each card and they LIST which rooms and cards that they play next, and when teams exchange cards they literally are able to get there general schedule immediately. either way i kinda wish i could go next year :)

it's currently quite late in the afternoon and the 8th caution of the indy 500 rip. (lap 155) i think dixon's fuel situation currently is looking the best, but i think the mclarens also have a very good chance today. let's see how well my predictions survive LOLL alright that's it for this post :) cya next week
